Democratic National Committee Chairman Tom Perez compared the allegation that Joe Biden sexually assaulted a former staffer to Hillary Clinton’s use of a private email server.
“This is like the Hillary emails because there was nothing there,” he told ABC’s This Week on Sunday, trying to downplay both matters.
Former FBI Director James Comey concluded, however, that Clinton, the former secretary of state, and her colleagues were “extremely careless in their handling of very sensitive, highly classified information.” Even so, no charges were brought against Clinton for using a personal server while she was at the State Department.
Perez defended Biden, the presumptive Democratic presidential nominee, dismissing calls for the release of Biden’s Senate records from the University of Delaware and saying he believes the former vice president’s denials because the Obama campaign vetted him before selecting him as a running mate.
