Senate Judiciary Committee Chairman Lindsey Graham and the other Republican members of the committee introduced a resolution this week commending Customs and Border Protection, or CBP, employees for their service to the country.
“I’m proud to introduce this resolution. To the Border Patrol agents, you’re doing an incredible job,” Graham, a Republican from South Carolina, said in a press release. “This system is broken. It’s not a crisis, it’s a disaster. Congress has a duty to act.”
The resolution lauds the men and women of CBP for “their continued honorable service” to fixing the immigration crisis at the border. The resolution also urges Congress to pass legislation to decrease the influx of migrants at the southern border.
Republican Sen. Ben Sasse of Nebraska said that “border security is national security.”
